Pakistan Tennis star, Aisam-ul-Haq, introduced that he shall be protesting in opposition to the Islamophobic rhetoric of French President, Emmanuel Macron, by sporting a white armband within the Paris Masters Tennis Event.

Aisam is about to play in a blended doubles event together with Greek associate, Stefanos Tsitsipas. They’ll face the pairing of Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski of Nice Britain on Wednesday.

Aisam was vocal in opposition to the stance of the French President and caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by French publication, Charlie Hebdo, and stated that “Islam solely preaches the message of peace and love and respect for all of the prophets.”

I shall be sporting a white armband all this week at Paris Masters as a peaceable protest in opposition to the French president who, sadly and disappointingly, is endorsing and inspiring this type of conduct the place persons are allowed to disrespect the faith of Islam and make enjoyable of our Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Aisam added that as a tennis participant he has realized to respect all religions, cultures, faiths and beliefs and it is likely one of the most beneficial classes as an athlete. He stated that freedom of speech doesn’t entitle an individual to focus on any particular race or faith. It doesn’t grant an individual the freedom to harm the feelings of different folks, he added.

He requested his fellow athletes to affix him in protesting in opposition to the feedback of Macron and requested them to denounce what the French authorities has been doing.

He concluded, “I urge not simply Muslim athletes however athletes everywhere in the world who respect different religions  to indicate solidarity and unity by sporting a white armband and lift consciousness that we, as human beings and athletes, can’t settle for disrespect and mocking of different religions.”
