You may be among them who took advantage of Christmas sales and bought a new smart TV and now you are able to strm the new Netflix series ‘’Altered Carbon’’ or any other drama.

As you may know that these smart TVs with apps and other bells and whistles that directly connect itself to the internet. You may get surprised that if those screens can be hacked and allow the hackers from outside to trace everything you watch or maybe not considered to be watching. After analyzing, the consumer reports said that many of the smart TVs are open and unsafe to hackers and they can easily track everything going on.  The doubtful TV brands that were put under-noticed and can be traced are in United States which are Samsung, LG,  Sony, TCL and Vizio.  The hacker can have full remote control over these brands.

The consumer reports senior director of content, Glenn Derene named the capacity of a hacker to get into one of the smart TVs ‘’Frightening’’.

Consumer reports told it was able to track into TCL’s Roku TV through a feature that is created by Roku, which lets a viewer use a smartphone or other firms to act as a remote control.

Roku of Los Gatos answered in a blog post on Wednesday and said that consumer reports ‘’ got it wrong’’ with how it describes the ease by which some could hack into its TV from TCL.

‘’This os mischaracterization of a feature’’ Roku said in its blog post. The company add those third-party developers are capable to make remote control applications by using an open interface that the company created and post and which can be turned off by going into the TV’s system settings and disabling the feature.

‘’There is no security risk to our customers’ accounts or the Roku platform,’’ Roku.

‘’But like anything involving a home network customers are advised to use a password to prevent unwanted access to their WiFi system.
