The Detroit Auto 2018 show wasn’t shown till January but this time Chevrolet has decided to organize a show to introduce their newest truck a bit early than the previous, offering very early at the 2019 Silverado. The entire new pickup was shown this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. The technical detail will be shown in the next month. But however, Chevy highlights some of the characteristics and key differences of Silverado against the Ford F-150.

As the F-150 is the United States best selling truck which is in Chevy’s crosshairs with this Silverado overhaul. When Ford showed the aluminum-bodied of F-150 many years ago, people thought that the other truck industry will also follow the same design because they think that it’s allowing for lighter vehicles and also a better fuel economy. But Chevy did an opposite work and used high standard steel alloy for Silverado’s new chassis.

The car maker said that the alloy used in the car is basically used in roll-formed, high and strength-steel barbed floor, contributing to a bed that is more functional and lighter weight’’

We have to wait to see that how the Silverado compares to the F-150 in key areas like towing capacity and fuel economy, but the avoidance of expensive aluminum should give Chevy the upper hand in pricing.
